Fantastic artwork! I had this horrible feeling Emma was going to snuff it but judging by the recent cover to All New X-Men that might not happen now. I'm curious whether Marvel would do a AVX What If? where five Avengers get the Phoenix Force instead of the X-Men.

You're welcome! That would be a tricky choice to be honest. Hopefully not Red Hulk, I wouldn't trust Ross with that kind of power. Scarlet Witch would be interesting because both sides including the other Phoenix members wouldn't be sure if they could trust her. I think Tony Stark would be a good choice, as would Steve Rogers. Peter Parker would be interesting since his motto might or might not go flying out the window depending whether he could control the Phoenix.

So maybe Captain America, Scarlet Witch, Iron Man, Spider-Man and... let's say Ms Marvel for a possible powerhouse problem. And since I like them as a pairing you could have Wanda and Steve getting together, much to the worry of Pietro and Sharon Carter.

Thanks! I think he'd be a great choice - I wonder if like Colossus with Kitty he'd approach one of his own girlfriends like MJ or Carlie and what they'd think? As a One More Day hater I like to also think he'd remember what happened and have the Phoenix pay Mephisto a visit! ;)

Yeah, Marvel looked at that with 'House of M: Spider-Man' where you get to see how Peter might be if he had everything he wanted, including Uncle Ben alive and being married to Gwen instead of MJ.
